🎪 The spectacle became a scene of destruction
What was light, emotion, music and laughter turned into smoke, fire and despair in the early hours of Monday (11), in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. The famous Circo do Tirú, a project by the comedian Tirullipa, was hit by a large fire and had much of its structure destroyed by the flames.
Mounted in the parking lot of Arena das Dunas since March, the circus was considered one of the biggest circus superproductions on tour in Brazil, bringing together technology, music, humor and more than 40 artists on stage.
🚒 HOW THE FIRE STARTED
According to information from the Fire Department, the fire started around 4:30 am and quickly took over the main structure of the circus. Videos shared on social networks show giant flames consuming the tarpaulin and intense black smoke dominating the sky of the capital of Rio Grande do Sul.
The teams arrived at the site a few minutes later and carried out emergency searches to check if there were people trapped inside the structure. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Neoenergia Cosern was also called to analyze the generators installed at the site. After inspection, it was found that the equipment was turned off at the time of the fire.
The causes of the fire are still being investigated.

"Despite the material losses, our true structure is still standing: the love for art and the circus."
The artist, Tiririca's son, grew up within the circus universe and had been treating the project as an emotional rescue of his childhood and northeastern roots.
