Cariúcha loses her patience, defends Xuxa and shoots at Mara Maravilha: "Repressed!"
Hold that ruffle, comadre! Cariúcha entered the controversy between Mara Maravilha and Xuxa, defended the Queen of the Baixinhos and made a provocative comparison between the careers of the two presenters.
Comadre and compadre, it seems that the war between the former stars of children's programs has gained a new participant! Cariúcha decided to come out in defense of Xuxa Meneghel and did not mince words when answering Mara Maravilha.
The presenter said on social media that Mara's team would have sought out her daughter, Mirella, to ask why she had talked about the singer during a recording of SuperPop, from RedeTV!. Cariúcha did not like the approach and replied that she only exercised the right to give her opinion.
According to Cariúcha, her comments were motivated by the criticism that Mara had been making against Xuxa, especially in relation to the swimsuit worn by the Queen of the Shorties and the age of the presenter.
"You gave your opinion and I gave mine too," Cariúcha declared, before calling Mara "repressed" and stating that she would need to accept the dimension of the success achieved by Xuxa.
Cariúcha comes out in defense of the Queen of the Shorties
During the outburst, Cariúcha stated that Xuxa remains the greatest artist of her generation and that it would not make sense to try to compete with a trajectory built over decades.
The presenter also said that she once admired Mara Maravilha and even sent her an affectionate message on Instagram. Despite this, she assessed that the singer would not have "evolved" in the way she deals with other artists.
"In life, we have to evolve," she said.
Statements will not be removed from the program
Cariúcha also assured that she does not intend to ask for her statements to be cut from SuperPop. According to her, the program would be shown exactly as it was recorded, regardless of any contacts from the press office or lawyers.
The presenter also asked Mara's team not to look for her daughter or her advisors anymore.
But, as all good television seems to need one last pinprick, Cariúcha ended the statement by comparing Xuxa's current professional moment to Mara's:
"Xuxa's crotch is filling stadiums. And your gogó? Is it filling a square?"
The provocation made reference to the repercussion of the low-cut swimsuit worn by Xuxa on the tour The Last Flight of the Ship and the criticism made by Mara to the costume.
